Bass-baritone Dylan Wright is an opera, oratorio, art song, and drag performer who has been praised for “seducing the audience with his rich, sonorous voice” (Beat Magazine), and his recent portrayal of Olin Blitch in Floyd’s ‘Susannah’ was hailed as a “tour de force” by Opera Canada. He recently sang Dulcamara in Toronto City Opera’s ‘L’elisir d’amore’, Count Vilém of Harasov in DvoÅ™ák’s ‘Jakobín’ with the Canadian Institute for Czech Music, Bartolo and Antonio in Toronto Concert Orchestra’s ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’, Sparafucile in Opera York’s ‘Rigoletto’, and the baritone solos in the Requiems of Fauré and Aharon Harlap with the York Chamber Ensemble and the Jubilate Singers. Dylan will be back to Ottawa in the fall to sing The Creature in Andrew Ager’s ‘Frankenstein’ with New Opera Lyra.
