Gary Dahl
Old Man

Native of Yarrow, British Columbia, Gary now resides in Chelsea, Quebec.
Primary vocal studies in Vancouver with maestro Luigi Wood. Further
studies at the Banff Centre, Florence, Italy, and New York.
 

Mr. Dahl is very pleased to be part of New Opera Lyra’s production of
Aleko. In previous seasons Gary has appeared in premiers of Andrew
Ager’s Frankenstein, and Dracula. In 2023 he showed audiences his
grumpy side in his portrayal of the most famous sourpuss, in Scrooge’s
Christmas. In November 2024 he sang the moving baritone solo in the
Seventeen Voyces presentation of Ager’s The Unknown soldier.
 

Gary sings as a lay clerk with Christ Church Cathedral Men & Boys choir
and enjoys his time as a semi-retired vocal teacher.
